What is the SPPN Membership?
SPPN membership comes in two tiers.
Associate Member is free. It gives you access to our WhatsApp groups, our public events and the ES Policy Blog.
Full Member costs $75 per year. It includes everything above, plus members-only events, priority access and reduced rates at open events, priority for blog contributions, and eligibility to take on leadership roles within the organization.
Full Members also contribute directly to the growth of SPPN and to the pursuit of its mission. Membership fees are what allow us to sustain the organization and expand what we can offer to the community.
Who can become a Member?
Membership is open to anyone with a demonstrated personal, professional or academic interest in public policy or international affairs, and a connection to Spain. That includes:
- Professionals whose work is relevant to Spanish public policy, in government, international organizations, think tanks, academia, or the nonprofit and private sectors.
- Graduate students and recent graduates at the Master’s or PhD level, enrolled at or recently graduated from an accredited institution, and researchers working in public policy or a policy-relevant field.
Any person wishing to become an Associate or Full Member of SPPN should share our mission and principles.
Membership benefits
Associate Member:
- Receive invitations to open-door SPPN and partner events and institutional visits
- Connect with members across all SPPN chapters
- Join the community WhatsApp group and other forums as relevant
- Contribute to the ES Policy Blog
- Upgrade to Full Membership at any point in the year
Full Member:
- Everything included in the Associate Membership
- Attend exclusive Full Member events
- Register early and at reduced rates for open-door events, including the Annual Conference in DC
- Access the SPPN member directory and network of experts
- Receive priority editorial support on the ES Policy Blog
- Take on leadership roles across SPPN initiatives and contribute to strategic discussions
How does the application process work?
- Submit your membership request
Complete the membership form by clicking the “Become a Member” button in our website. Provide the relevant information and select the type of membership you would like to have.
Once you submit the form, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your request. Click the confirmation link in the email to complete your registration and be added to the SPPN database.
The confirmation email will also include a link to join the SPPN WhatsApp group.
- Your request is reviewed
All membership requests are reviewed by the SPPN Board of Directors.
If you have applied to become an Associate Member, your membership will be activated once you have confirmed your request.
If you have applied to become a Full Member, your application will be reviewed to ensure that you meet the requirements for Full Membership.
- Full Membership approval and payment
If your application meets the requirements for Full Membership, you will receive an email with instructions to pay the annual membership fee.
When completing your payment through Stripe, please use the same email address you provided on your membership form.
Once your payment has been processed, your Full Membership will be activated. You will receive a confirmation email with access to your Full Member portal.
- Existing members
If you signed up through the SPPN website before September 23, 2026, you will receive an email introducing the new membership model.
The email will include a link to express your interest in becoming a Full Member, followed by instructions on how to complete your membership payment.
If you choose not to become a Full Member, you will remain an Associate Member.
- Changing your membership
You can move from Associate Member to Full Member at any time. Simply contact us at hello@spainpolicy.com, and we will guide you through the process.
Full Members can cancel their Full Membership at any time through their Full Member portal. After cancellation, they will remain part of the SPPN network as Associate Members.
If you later decide that you would like to become a Full Member again, simply contact us.
